Let me introduce myself!

Welcome to my blog!

My name is Souwie, pronounced Zöe like the Greek goddess of life.  Although the name is in fact a northern one –  from the island of Texel in the Netherlands, to be exact. Northern Europe is where the ancestors of both my mother and father originate but I grew up in sunny South Africa. I have since lived in London, Hong Kong, and Spain – I’m currently based in the Hague, city of peace and justice, where I work as a freelance journalist and reporter. Check out my YouTube video to see me in action!

My love of stories began when I was very young and prompted studies in Literature and Political Economy more recently. There are stories everywhere and this blog is dedicated to the real life stories of real people and issues who inspire with their knowledge, passion and dedication. These are people who I meet in my work as a journalist. Extraordinary people whose stories will I hope provide a unique source of inspiration and information about issues and events that affect all of us.
